Dana Carson RScP President

Rev. Dana Carson

As the past President of AS-U and continuing in her capacity as Director, Dana sees our organization becoming a strong, focused base for New Thought expansion.  Learning and teaching from the work of Ernest Holmes and other New Thought leaders, our AS-U members, students, teachers, practitioners and ministers are supported and encouraged as they bring a new vision to our world.  As the Alliance for Spiritual Understanding, our organization recognizes that Spirit works as us and through us, according to the laws of nature, and to the extent that we individually allow.  As we learn and grow, our experience reflects the new world we are creating.  AS-U holds this vision for all walks of life, and welcomes all to join us.

As the Co-Founder of All Paths Gathering Center in Richmond, Virginia, Dana is a Ministerial student studying with Rev. Thelma Smith and is also enrolled in a degree program in Religious Studies. Her career experience is in Hospice and Senior Center management.  She leads a meditation group and co-teaches Science of Mind I and II classes at the Center.  She is a Reiki practitioner and finds a great deal of satisfaction in baking wonderful cookies and muffins. Originally from California, Dana has lived in Virginia for 4 ½ years with Joe, whom she says is “totally awesome.”

Vickie V=Cantelmo

Vickie Cantelmo, RScP

Vickie began her search for a greater spiritual understanding many years ago by becoming active in the Unity church where the Science of Mind program is supported.  She took several years of classes on manifestation and co-creating, however, her attention was continuously drawn to the offered Science of Mind curriculum.  She is now a SOM Practitioner and in her first year of SOM Ministerial classes.  Vickie is looking forward to continuing to serve AS-U through the Board and community activities, along with serving the community and her church through Spiritual Prayer Treatment and teaching the Ernest Holmes revelation to those who are also hungry for Spiritual knowledge.  During Vickie's study of SOM, she has experienced many opportunities for healing through Universal Mind for both her physical self (Rheumatoid Arthritis) and other people and their pets that have come to her for that Spiritual connection for themselves or their animals.

In addition to studying the Science of Mind curriculum and becoming a Licensed Practitioner, Vickie is a Certified Dog Trainer and spends time in dog manners training.  She is using her knowledge of the Oneness of Spiritual Mind to connect with the animal energies for health and behavior healing along with seeing the Universal Love in all people and creatures on this earth.

David Wilbert, RScP Director

Rev David Wilbert

A longtime Truth seeker and student of life, Rev. David Wilbert realized that the Law of Attraction had worked in numerous instances in his life, well before he was formally introduced to those principles in late 2006.  His career in Aviation took him to the Midwest in early 2007 and within weeks of his arrival, Spirit led him to Rev. Carol Andrix’s G.O.O.D. Center of Chicago, an organization within the Alliance for Spiritual Understanding (AS-U), formerly GRSM.  It was then and there he began studying the spiritual philosophy of the Science of Mind and through his conscious awareness, has been applying these principles to his daily life and noticing their wonderful benefits ever since. Dave became a SOM Practitioner in 2010 and after studying with Rev. Carol for seven years, obtained his Ministerial License in 2014. He has recently taken the teachings to Anchorage, Alaska, where fulfillment of his treatment (affirmative prayer) brought about a promotion and hence, a new life in the Northwest. He is both grateful and honored to serve in a leadership role on the Executive Board within AS-U as well as being a participant of our community’s Prayer Team. With the vision and promise of AS-U’s continual growth, Dave offers all future members a most enthusiastic and loving welcome!

Rev JR Adams

Rev JR Adams

Rev. JR resides in Richmond, Virginia where after many years of struggle and self-searching, he arrived at a place of inner peace. A number of years ago, JR began hearing a small inner voice calling him to BE STILL, knowing at the time he was asking for many answers in prayer; it had to be Spirit’s way of responding or teaching. A friend told him about the Smiths and their place called the “Spiritual Mind Center.” It was following his first service with Revs. Dwight and Thelma Smith that JR just knew there was something there in this system of the Science of Mind.

To better understand the emotional and physical aspects of self, he also studied and completed Lightworkers Call to Mastery with Lynn Allen in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He has studied several areas of energy healing and was guided to become a Reiki Master Teacher in 2007. This study was an integration of an Usui and Tibetan Reiki Master. He has also more fully embraced self through his Native American heritage, with his Shamanic studies and nature based practice.

As a passionate and purpose-driven healer and teacher, JR has a drive not only for his own continued healing, growth and self expansion on this life’s journey, but also to see that realized in the lives of those he touches. This prompted JR to establish a very successful healing practice in 2007. Following his own healing and empowerment through the SOM course, he has a strong desire to help others realize that they, too, can have total well-being and even financial abundance in this life.

JR can be found teaching classes, sharing messages and facilitating workshops in several Richmond locations. He teaches the principles of the Science of Mind through these events and his professional coaching practice.
